Conegliano Valdobbiadene prosecco

In 2003, the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area was recognised as the First Italian Sparkling Wine District, and in the same year, the collaboration between the Protection Consortium and the Economic Observatory of the Interdepartmental Centre for Research in Viticulture and Oenology (C.I.R.V.E.) of the University of Padua, operating in Conegliano created the District Study Centre. The Centre aims to improve market knowledge, study competitive scenarios and provide companies with a tool to make their strategy more effective.

The objectives of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco District activity revolve around the following guidelines.

• The improvement of product quality and increasing attention to reducing the environmental impact of wine-growing in the direction of increasingly sustainable production that respects nature and the people living in the district area;

• The increase in product knowledge in Italy and abroad, as an expression of Made in Italy excellence and know-how inextricably linked to the territory of origin;

• The strengthening of the internationalisation of companies and access to new markets;

• The increase of tourist flows in the area, to directly introduce the activity and the district reality, characterised by a wine-growing landscape of extraordinary beauty.
