Fishing District of Rovigo and Chioggia
The Rovigo and Chioggia Fishing District includes companies in the municipalities of Chioggia, Ariano nel Polesine, Loreo, Porto Tolle, Rosolina, Taglio di Po, and Porto Viro. They operate in fishing/breeding, conservation and trade, and the processing of fish, crustaceans and molluscs, thus involving the entire production chain.
The district has equipped itself with a programme, agreed upon with the entrepreneurial base, that envisages the implementation of actions aimed at increasing the export of companies, improving product traceability systems, reducing the environmental impact of activities, introducing methods and tools to improve the quality of aquaculture, integrating production activities, enhancing the territory, finding innovative solutions for the use of production waste, and researching solutions for packaging and functional foods.
The district also promotes and facilitates research and development projects in cooperation with other regional industrial districts, universities, research centres and Regional Innovative Clusters.
